Renting and operating a free B&B in NorCal.

Jenny, Rachel, and I cruise the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. Notice the short sleeves, lack of fog, and blue skies. It was like summer in March the whole weekend!

One of the advantages of living in the SF Bay Area over …oh …say…Flint, Michigan, is that friends and family are not only willing to come and visit you, but so eager to do so that they will incorporate just such a visit into their vacation. Two weekends ago it was my brother, Ryan, and some of his friends on spring break. In early May it will be my folks. In July, Rachel’s family. A few weeks later my roommate all four years of college, Alex, and his girlfriend (also a very good friend of mine during college), Ami. The list seems to go on and on.

Last weekend, it was our friends from Chicago, Jenny and Rachel F., who we went to visit last fall. Jenny grew up in Cushing with Rachel B. (and oddly enough has a distant relation to my family), who went to OU and is now living in Chicago working as a chemical engineer. Rachel F. is Jenny’s best friend and roommate who is in her second to last year at Northwestern Law School. They arrived Wednesday and did their own thing up in SF until Friday afternoon when Rachel and i took a half day off of work to hang out. Then they stayed with us for the rest of the weekend and flew back to Chicago yesterday (Monday).

Needless to say it was an awesome weekend that was made better by truly incredible weather.

In just 60 hours we hung out in countless parks, saw Coit Tower, drove down Lombard street, saw the Bison in Golden Gate Park, snuck into a museum to use the bathroom, ate tons and tons of delicious food (both at home and at restaurants), found the Full House house (yeah, we were all born in the mid 80’s), did some damage to the car’s clutch, ate bacon waffles, went to the Ferry Building farmer’s market, hiked in Muir Woods, ate at our favorite pizza place, went for a bike ride, made cinnamon rolls, checked out an enormous garage sale, went wine tasting, hung out at the beach, bought and then cooked fish fresh off the boat, and sat around talking and drinking wine.

By the time i got into work on Monday morning after dropping Jenny and Rachel off at SFO i was beat. But i guess the best weekends leave you exhausted and wishing for another weekend to recover.

Pictures and a more in depth post coming soon!
