Nuptial News

For those of you that aren’t on facebook, i guess it is worth mentioning here that last night Rachel and i got engaged.

The whole Bay Area has been really hot the last few days. Yesterday even San Francisco (‘The coldest winter i’ve ever experienced was the summer i spent in San Francisco’-Mark Twain) was up around 100 degrees. Rachel and i had dinner at a place called Flour + Water, one of our favorite spots up in the city. Because we didn’t have reservations, we had to show up at 5:30 to grab a spot. Though it was so hot they couldn’t keep the white wine refrigerator below 55 degrees, and we were both dripping sweat as we sat at the bar downing cool white wine and eating hot dishes, we had a great time. The sun was about to set as we finished, so we moved things over to Dolores Park, Rachel’s ‘favorite place in the city that isn’t a restaurant’, which was packed with people drinking wine and beer, sitting out on blankets enjoying the warm evening. We sat on a blanket with Cooper on top of a hill overlooking the skyline just as the sun was setting. I made a few jokes, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me (she said yes). The next to hours we spent in the park talking to friends and family on the phone, switching phones back and forth, and doing that whole thing.

So we’re trying to decide on a date. Hopefully in a few days (or weeks) we’ll have a more concrete plan. Right now it’s looking like sometime in the fall of 2011, so be ready, because it’s going to be awesome. We’re pretty excited.

Did i start on the wedding playlist before i even proposed? Uh…no comment.

Maybe, just maybe, i can get Rachel to do a guest post.
